Marine affairs drop anchor at Porto

Business2Sea will host two important initiatives: the 6th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference and the Interreg Atlantic Area Annual Event.

A week full of events around marine affairs is planned in Porto. Within it SAFER partners will play a very active, by not only organising and participating in Business2Sea, but also our partner CPMR celebrating their Atlantic Arc Annual Assembly on 14th.

The 6th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference will take place this year on November 12th and 13th at Alfândega Congress Centre in Porto (Portugal) within the framework of the Business2Sea international event co-organized by SAFER Portuguese partner, ForumOceano, and CETMAR.

The 6th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference is the annual meeting point for stakeholders participating in the Atlantic Strategy to exchange experience and to seek ways of cooperation. This year, the attendees will have the opportunity to promote good practices, share project ideas and take part in plenary sessions, workshops and different networking activities.


Interreg Atlantic Area Annual Event
Also within the framework of the Business2Sea, the Interreg Atlantic Area Managing Authority and the Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública of Spain, which is holding the Presidency of the Programme for 2019, will organise the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme Annual Event on the 13th of November Alfândega Congress Centre.


Atlantic Arc Commission General Assembly
Apart from the mentioned two events, SAFER partner CPMR Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions will organise the Atlantic Arc Commission General Assembly on the 14th November, also in Porto. Among others, they will discuss about:

  • Marine Renewable Energy to mitigate climate change
  • Maritime skills to adapt economies and prepare citizens to climate challenges

CPMR will also hold an open seminar on the role of the regions in developing solutions to climate challenges.
